Thomas Wood
Chief Executive Officer & Director | Trinity Silver Corp. (TSXV: TOM) | Mining investor; founding partner of QCapital Partners
"Repositioning a TSXV micro-cap into a silver explorer holding the past-producing Silver-1 Mine in Ecuador and an option on Chile's historic Chañarcillo district."
Biography
Thomas Wood is the chief executive officer and a director of Trinity Silver Corp. (TSXV: TOM), a Vancouver-based junior mining company focused on silver. Since taking the role in July 2025, he has reshaped what was a Mongolia copper-nickel explorer into a silver-focused company that owns the past-producing Silver-1 Mine in southern Ecuador and holds an option over the historic Nueva Chañarcillo silver district in northern Chile. He is also a founding partner of QCapital Partners, an Australia-based venture firm that specializes in mining investments.
His career is in investment and policy rather than mine operations. Wood served as a policy adviser to the Leader of the Opposition in the Australian Senate and managed a fund focused on small-cap mining stocks on the ASX (the Australian Securities Exchange) before co-founding QCapital Partners. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in finance from the Australian National University. As CEO he renamed Aranjin Resources to Trinity One Metals in August 2025, closed the purchase of the Silver-1 Mine in February 2026, raised C$5.34 million the following month, signed a staged US$10 million option on the Juan Godoy property at Nueva Chañarcillo in August 2026, and rebranded the company as Trinity Silver Corp. that September.
His approach is to acquire documented, past-producing silver assets at small-capitalization prices, verify their historical records, and move them toward current reporting standards. At Silver-1, a 3,108-hectare property in Ecuador's Cañar-Azuay silver belt, Trinity is compiling drill data that dates back to the 1960s and 1970s, sampling the historic tailings (the milled waste left from earlier processing), and working toward a mineral resource estimate compliant with NI 43-101 (Canada's standard for publicly disclosed mineral estimates). Reported results so far include tailings samples up to 132.82 grams per tonne (g/t) silver and a historic drill intercept of 2.60 metres at 1,240 g/t silver — figures the company describes as historical, not current resources. At Nueva Chañarcillo, work begins with airborne magnetics, surface sampling and 3D modelling ahead of initial diamond drilling targeted for late 2026.
Following Wood means following an early-stage silver story and its risks. Neither Silver-1 nor Nueva Chañarcillo has a current mineral resource, the Chilean option requires staged payments over four years to keep, and the legacy Mongolia copper-nickel project adds a second front while the company is still financed at junior-miner scale. The 2026-27 drill programs at Silver-1 and Nueva Chañarcillo are the practical test of whether the historical numbers hold up. Wood presented the company at the Metals Investor Forum in Vancouver in September 2026.

Thomas Wood of Trinity Silver Corp. talks to Eric Coffin | Metals Investor Forum Sept. 2026
- Top takeaway Wood anchors Trinity's Q4 program on twinning and stepping out from a 2002 hole that cut 2 metres at 2,390 g/t silver 58 metres down hole at Nueva Chañarcillo.
- Wood says Trinity ran three programs in its first month at the Chile project, including drone magnetics that he says is the property's first-ever geophysics.
- Wood says tailings assay results are due within weeks but manages expectations, calling the tailings a low-cost test rather than the reason for the acquisition.
- Wood cites $3.9 million in cash at the last financials and says Trinity does not need to go back to market to fund the work.
- In Ecuador, Wood is prioritizing community relations at Silver-1 ahead of 29 November local elections and expects election-driven opposition to fade after the vote.
Trinity Silver (TSX-V: TOM) is advancing historic silver projects in Chile and Ecuador, with Q4 drilling planned at Nueva Chañarcillo. Nueva Chañarcillo was Chile's largest historic silver mine, yet had never been surveyed with geophysics before Trinity's first-ever drone magnetic survey. A 2002 hole cut 2 metres at 2,390 g/t (grams per tonne) silver 58 metres down hole; twin and step-out drilling is planned for Q4. The Silver-1 mine in Ecuador ran from 1989 to 1994; Trinity is rebuilding community relations first, with local elections due 29 November. Trinity reports $3.9 million in cash and completed a 3D survey, 37-hole tailings auger program and drone magnetics in its first month.
Thomas Wood of Trinity Silver Corp. presents at Metals Investor Forum in Vancouver | Sep 2026
- Top takeaway The guest argues investors should get involved early, describing Trinity Silver's roughly $13 million market cap as a "great starting valuation" for the assembled portfolio of two South American silver projects, with successful drilling potentially rewriting that valuation.
- He says the two assets - the Nueva China in northern Chile (acquired in August 2026) and the Silver One mine in Ecuador (acquired at the start of 2026) - give shareholders two substantial exploration opportunities with silver central to the company going forward.
- On the Chilean project, he points to a 2002 Aetna Resources RC hole that returned 2 metres at 2,390 g/t silver at just 58 metres downhole, saying the company needs to verify it and plans initial drilling in Q4 2026, subject to approvals and access.
- He highlights that Nueva China has effectively been untouched since 1888 flooding, with no modern geophysics ever completed until Trinity's drone mag survey, which finished in the week before the September 2026 presentation, alongside a completed 37-hole auger program over historic tailings awaiting assays.
- On cap structure he cites around 67 million shares on issue and $3.9 million of cash in the last reported financials, and says he is relocating to Santiago to build an on-the-ground presence close to both projects.
Trinity Silver, a roughly $13 million market cap junior, holds two historic high-grade silver projects in Chile and Ecuador. Nueva China in Chile, effectively untouched since 1888, saw a 2002 drill hit 2 metres at 2,390 grams per tonne silver. Silver One in Ecuador pairs underground extension potential with surface tailings grading 118-133 grams per tonne silver. With $3.9 million cash and 67 million shares outstanding, the company funds first modern drilling at Nueva China, targeted for Q4. Both projects were optioned in 2026 with staged payments, giving the company years of exploration runway before the largest payment.
Key Quotes
"The Silver-1 mine positions Trinity as one of the lowest market cap companies on the TSXV with a past producing silver asset. We're excited to advance this Project quickly and responsibly, starting with verifying the historic work and moving toward a focused confirmation program."
— Silver-1 Mine acquisition announcement, Trinity One Metals, January 2026
"Silver-1 is moving from historical review into modern field execution. Initial silver results from the tailings material are encouraging, particularly as the results received to date are broadly consistent with the historical 2007 sampling data."
— Silver-1 Mine and Victory Project operations update, Trinity One Metals, June 2026
"Chañarcillo is one of South America's great historic silver districts, and Nueva Chañarcillo gives Trinity One exposure to the area surrounding Juan Godoy's original 1832 discovery"
