Geologist & Mining Executive | President, Sun Summit Minerals; The Gold Advisor | 20+ years in mineral exploration

"Geologist-president of Sun Summit Minerals who helps gold investors read exploration drill results with a trained eye."

Mining Executive

Biography

Sharyn Alexander is a geologist and mining executive who leads Sun Summit Minerals (TSX-V: SMN) as President and serves as the on-team technical expert at The Gold Advisor, a research and education service for gold and mining-stock investors. The TSX Venture Exchange is the Canadian listing venue for junior mining companies — small firms exploring for and advancing mineral deposits. In both roles, Alexander does the same core job: reading exploration data and telling investors plainly what the results show.

She has spent more than 20 years in mineral exploration and mining, working from early-stage field programs upward, and holds an M.Sc. Sun Summit Minerals appointed her President in 2022, according to the company's news release. There she runs an exploration-stage company whose flagship asset is the Buck gold project in central British Columbia, where drilling, property work, and private placements (share sales used to raise exploration funding) form the working rhythm of a junior explorer.

As an investor-facing geologist, Alexander evaluates projects the way an operator does: on drill results, the geology behind them, and whether management's claims match its data. Drill results — lab assays (metal-content measurements) of rock samples retrieved by drilling — are exploration's main scorecard, and they are easy to over-read or oversell. Her commentary for The Gold Advisor is built around that discipline, with a focus on gold and precious-metals juniors, largely in Canada and British Columbia.

Her work now sits at the junction of operating and analyzing. Following Sun Summit gives investors a close view of how a junior explorer advances a project through drilling and financing, while her Gold Advisor analysis and conference appearances — alongside the Metals Investor Forum and the Gold Advisor Network Summit at Vancouver's Fairmont Pacific Rim on November 5, 2026 — supply the technical lens that pure financial screening lacks. For anyone holding or evaluating junior mining stocks, she demonstrates how a geologist actually weighs a project's worth.
