Mining Executive

Biography

Sam Leung is Chief Executive Officer and a director of Centauri Minerals Inc. (TSXV: CENT), a gold-copper-silver exploration company spun out of Aldebaran Resources in August 2026 to focus on six projects across Salta, Jujuy, and Catamarca provinces in northern Argentina. He now runs Centauri's flagship Rio Grande project in Salta — a gold-copper-silver system roughly 10 km from Fortuna Mining's operating Lindero mine — which carries a newly filed NI 43-101 resource estimate (the Canadian standard for publicly disclosed mineral figures).

Leung has spent more than 20 years on the deal side of mining. He served on the board of AbraSilver Resource Corp. from 2018 to 2026, a period in which the company's Diablillos silver-gold project in Argentina grew from a $10 million to over a $2.5 billion market capitalization. He was VP of Corporate Development at Adventus Mining, building its gold and copper business in Ecuador before the company's 2024 sale to Silvercorp Metals, and Director of Corporate Development at Lundin Mining, where he worked on transactions valued at over US$3.7 billion and managed joint ventures with Freeport-McMoRan in Africa and Europe. He began his career as a metallurgist, later advised on strategy and due diligence at engineering firm Hatch, and is a Professional Engineer in Ontario with a first-class honours engineering chemistry degree from Queen's University.

At Centauri, Leung runs the company like the corporate development veteran he is: since its October 2025 launch he has raised a C$5.7 million seed financing, C$25 million in private placements, and a US$25 million subscription receipt financing tied to the spin-out, secured a drilling permit for Rio Grande in June 2026, and listed the company on the TSX Venture Exchange that August. The focus is Rio Grande, where a February 2026 estimate by SLR outlined 153.7 million indicated tonnes at 0.29 g/t gold, 0.25% copper, and 2.6 g/t silver, plus 220.8 million inferred tonnes, within a porphyry system (base-metal and gold mineralization centred on a large intrusive body) that has not been drilled since 2013.

Investors following Leung are watching a new Argentine explorer put its first modern drill program to work: Rio Grande's coming campaign will be its first in over a decade, and early results will test both the resource and the team. He presented the Centauri story at the Metals Investor Forum in Vancouver in September 2026.
