Roger Rosmas
Founder, President & CEO | Goliath Resources Limited | Driver of the Surebet high-grade gold discovery in BC's Golden Triangle
"Founder & CEO of Goliath Resources, the junior behind the Surebet high-grade gold discovery in BC's Golden Triangle."
Biography
Roger Rosmus is the founder, President, and CEO of Goliath Resources Limited (TSX-V: GOT), a junior resource exploration company he incorporated in October 2017 to pursue high-grade precious metal discoveries in British Columbia's Golden Triangle. Under his leadership, Goliath has assembled the Golddigger Property and advanced the Surebet discovery — a multi-zone gold system that has become one of the more closely watched grassroots-to-advanced exploration stories in the Canadian junior sector.
Rosmus brings more than 25 years of investment banking and corporate finance experience to the role, including prior work as Vice President of Eastern Canada Operations and a dealing representative at Ascenta, a Vancouver-based boutique mining financier. That finance-first background shapes how Goliath has been run: capital has been raised against drilling catalysts, and each field season has been framed as a series of step-outs designed to grow the Surebet footprint and convert ounces into a maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE — the first formal, code-compliant disclosure of contained metal in the ground).
The Surebet system is anchored by the Surebet Zone and the adjacent Bonanza and Golden Gate zones, where drilling has produced consistent high-grade gold intercepts since the first hole. Rosmus positioned Goliath to capitalize on that momentum: the company expanded its 2026 program to a fully funded 50,000-metre campaign, completed across 97 holes and 48,443 metres with seven rigs running around the clock on the helicopter-supported site. He has also used the conference circuit — including the Metals Investor Forum, NobleCon20, and 121 Mining events — to pitch the district-scale thesis to North American resource investors in his own voice.
In February 2026, Rosmus was appointed to the newly created Advisory Board of Formation Metals Inc., a separate junior listing, reflecting his standing in the resource capital markets community. He holds an MBA from the University of Western Ontario and is based in Toronto.
For resource investors, Rosmus matters because he is the public face of one of the more active gold drill stories of the mid-2020s — and because his financing-first background shows up in how Goliath sequences dilution, drilling, and news flow. His commentary on the Surebet system, including step-out strategy, drill density, and the path to a maiden resource, is the kind of primary-source detail investors rarely get from second-hand coverage.

Goliath Resources – 2026 Exploration Program - 48,443 m Of Drilling, 97 Drill Holes, 100% Hit Rate
- Top takeaway Argues the 2026 program vindicated his expansion-first strategy: aggressive 100-700 metre step-outs kept a 100% hit rate and added over 2 km of strike, so he believes the Surebet system remains wide open.
- Sees the newly defined Big Bulk Zone as improving project economics: broad, lower-grade mineralization sitting between the Bonanza and Golden Gate veins that could allow block-cave mining of the high-grade and bulk material together.
- Deliberately deferred a maiden resource estimate, reasoning that about 75-77% of 1,500-plus pierce points already sit at 25-50 metre spacing and that infilling this year's step-outs will make the eventual MRE substantially bigger, citing 30%-plus growth from 2024 to 2025.
- Prioritizes consistency over headline intercepts: he says 25 gram-metre holes are what build a mine and he would take those all day long, while noting announced 2026 results already include a hole over 200 gram-metres.
- Plans a 2027 drill test for the causative feeder system, suspecting the 'plumbing' where structures converge northeast of pad two, after a hanging cornice blocked this year's north-slope pad.
Goliath Resources drilled 48,443 metres across 97 holes in 94 days at Surebet, hitting mineralization in every hole while stepping out aggressively. Step-outs added over two kilometres of strike (lateral extent) at Golden Gate and Bonanza, so the gold system stays open in every direction. A new Big Bulk Zone between Bonanza and Golden Gate may suit block caving (a low-cost bulk mining method) alongside the high-grade veins. Eighty-three of 97 holes await assays, promising steady news flow into January; about two-thirds of this year's holes showed visible (naked-eye) gold. Management plans infill drilling next year toward a resource estimate; most of 1,500-plus pierce points (hole intersections) sit at 25-50 metre spacing.
This Gold Discovery Just Keeps Getting Bigger | Roger Rosmus - Goliath Resources
- Top takeaway Presents the 'wedge zone' / bulk-tonnage discovery between the Bonanza and Golden Gate contacts as the key 2026 takeaway, arguing these long lower-grade intercepts could justify low-cost bulk mining and add another 300-400m of potential strike across the mountain.
- Frames the 2026 program as a successful execution story — roughly 50,000 metres in about 90 days despite snow delays, step-outs up to 750m hitting mineralization, an 85% visible-gold rate since 2021, and about 83 assays from 97 holes still pending as news flow into the new year.
- Announces that Goliath renegotiated the option with the private syndicate to drop the NSR from 3% to 2% and push the first MRE deadline to 2030, presenting this as added optionality rather than a delay.
- Argues the system 'remains wide open' with step-outs to the southwest, northeast and east, and points to the Jackpot showing (over 20 ounces) about a kilometer to the east-southeast as a target for 2027 follow-up drilling.
- Highlights initial metallurgy of 92.3% recovery at a 327-micron crush with roughly 50% gravity-recoverable free gold (no cyanide, no deleterious material) and expects even better recoveries from the deeper Bonanza and Golden Gate zones based on coarser-grained gold observed there.
Goliath drilled nearly 50,000 metres at Surebet in BC's Golden Triangle, keeping a 100% hit rate with 83 assays still pending. CEO Roger Rosmus argues the new Big Bulk Zone — long low-grade intercepts wrapping the high-grade Bonanza and Golden Gate veins — widens bulk-tonnage potential. The maiden Mineral Resource Estimate has been pushed to 2030 after Goliath renegotiated the underlying property NSR royalty from 3% to 2%. Initial metallurgy shows 92.3% gold recovery via gravity alone, with no cyanide required; 2027 adds infill plus step-outs on an open system.
Goliath Resources–320m Step-Out At Golden Gate Zone, Listener Questions - Drill Density, MRE, & Adit
- Top takeaway Roger Rosmas describes the latest step-out as a 320-meter extension of Golden Gate plus a 540-meter southwest step-out, almost a kilometer in total, which he calls unheard of for a vein-type system.
- He frames the program as expansion plus resource definition: about 1,500 pierce points with roughly 75-76% on tight 25-50 meter spacings, with 100-meter step-outs likely falling into inferred and the tight spacings into measured and indicated categories.
- He explains why the exploration adit has been shelved for now, saying the quoted cost came back about 10x higher than expected and permitting could take two years, so capital is being spent on the drill bit instead.
- He notes Goliath is already preparing new pad locations for a 2027 infill program that will upgrade confidence on the larger step-outs, and expects drill results to continue through year-end and into early 2027 from a roughly 90-hole campaign.
- He attributes the muted stock reaction to summer doldrums, macro uncertainty, and algo-driven trading between CIBC, Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch, and predicts gold could reach $5,000 by year-end as a potential tailwind.
Goliath Resources extended the Golden Gate Zone 320 m NE while most of its deposit is already drilled at M&I-grade spacings. CEO Roger Rosmas explains why big step-outs beat an exploration adit: drilling needs no extra permits and returns assays faster. The team uses directional drilling from a single mother hole to splay into multiple vein targets and control cost. Rosmas reads summer action as algo-driven and seasonal, expecting a fall catalyst as gold potentially pushes to $5,000. Host Shad Markowitz frames Goliath's drill fatigue risk through the Great Bear $1.3 B takeout as a patience-play analog.
Goliath Resources – First Drill Assays From The 2026 Program Return High-Grade Gold Mineralization
- Top takeaway Founder and CEO Roger Rosmas argues the team is 'challenging the geology' with bigger step-outs in 2026 precisely because the deposit remains open and a resource cannot be drawn until the edges are found.
- He frames this season as a hunt for a possible 'mother lode' feeder source, with Pad 25 on the east side of the northeast-trending fault and extensions off Pad 13 framed as the highest-stakes tests.
- He emphasizes the mineralized zones are now visually predictable to the core team and that early assay grades from the step-outs look 'fairly consistent', after 92% of 2025 holes carried visible gold.
- He discloses roughly C$53M of cash and liquid securities at the last quarter against an estimated C$25-27M all-in cost for the 50,000-meter program, and suggests the remainder could fund another full season in 2027.
First 2026 assays at Goliath's Surebet confirmed high-grade gold and a 554m expansion of the Bonanza and Golden Gate zones. Pending step-out assays could stretch Bonanza and Golden Gate up to 750m southwest and 200m north — the system stays open. The guest argues aggressive step-outs (up to ~700m) are needed to map where the system ends before any resource estimate. Visible gold to the naked eye (VG-NE) appears in most holes (92% last year), giving geologists an early tell before assays return. The fully funded 50,000m program costs ~$25M against ~$53M cash, leaving room for a 2027 follow-up.
Goliath Resources– First 10 Step-Out Drill Holes Of 2026 Program Extend Surebet Gold Mineralization
- Top takeaway Speaking on the KE Report on 15 July 2026, Goliath founder-CEO Roger Rosmas presents the first 10 holes of the 2026 program as evidence the Surebet system keeps its mineralization style far beyond known limits, headlined by a roughly 750 m Bonanza step-out.
- He says the goal is to keep the company's 100% hit rate going after every 2026 hole to date has intersected quartz-sulphide mineralization, while assays remain pending on all of them.
- He explains the system's layering — Surebet in the sedimentary rocks, Bonanza at the sediment-volcanic contact, Golden Gate below in the volcanics — and notes drilling is still about 200 m above the valley floor, leaving potential mineralization below.
- He contends the visible-gold core photos are meant to let investors do their own homework rather than to hype the stock, responding to early criticism of the practice that he believes the multi-season track record has answered.
- He expects first 2026 assay news before the end of July to early August 2026 and hopes the program may tag the elusive Motherlode feeder source, with Bonanza one theory for the main conduit.
The first 10 holes of Goliath's 2026 program all cut quartz-sulphide mineralization (a visual proxy for high-grade gold), extending Surebet's Bonanza Zone 750 meters southwest. Visible gold to the naked eye showed up in 6 of 10 holes across multiple veins, while every 2026 assay remains pending. Bonanza outcrops for almost 3 kilometers on the north slope, suggesting the known zones and veins could nearly triple in size. Directional drilling from a pilot (mother) hole lets rigs repeat 100-meter step-outs, hitting targets within about 5 meters. Seven rigs will soon be turning on the fully funded 50,000-meter program, with first assays expected in roughly four weeks.
