Peter Gadsdon
Founder & Managing Director | Mining Network | Mining investment interviewer
"Founding Mining Network and keeping mining executives on construction schedules, permitting, and funding in long-form interviews"
Biography
Peter Gadsdon is the founder and managing director of Mining Network, a UK-based investor news source covering publicly listed resource companies and commodity markets. He hosts the platform's long-form interviews, in which mining executives and commodity strategists explain, in their own words, how projects get permitted, funded, and built. For a resource investor, that focus on execution detail is what makes the interviews worth the time.
Gadsdon began his career at Mining Journal, where he built the publication's investor relations, marketing, and mining finance event capabilities. He founded Mining Network in 2020 to help investors and miners make connections, and the operation has grown into an interview channel with more than 400 videos and around 24,000 subscribers, plus a free weekly newsletter. Guests range from junior developers — small companies advancing a single project toward a mine — to royalty company chiefs, among them Silver Tiger Metals CEO Glenn Jessome and Metalla Royalty & Streaming CEO Brett Heath, alongside analysts and market strategists. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Kent and is completing a Bachelor of Science in Geology at the University of London.
The interviews stay on specifics rather than price talk. A recent conversation with Jessome on the El Tigre silver-gold project in Sonora, Mexico, stayed on delivery: construction milestones for the fully permitted heap leach (a low-cost processing method in which crushed ore is stacked on pads and irrigated with solution to recover metal), grid power access, the funding path for a company holding roughly C$100 million in cash, and the timeline to first production in December 2027. Coverage across the platform concentrates on precious metals, copper, battery materials, and royalty and streaming companies (businesses that hold a share of a mine's future production rather than operating mines), from early exploration through producers.
Investors can follow Mining Network's interviews and newsletter for construction updates, commodity outlooks, and reporting on permitting and geopolitics affecting miners. The habit worth borrowing from Gadsdon's work is the interview method itself: keeping executives on schedules, budgets, and funding — the same checklist a careful investor runs before buying a junior miner.

Mexico’s Next Silver Mine On Schedule for 2027 Production | Silver Tiger
- Top takeaway Peter Gadsdon attributes the recent move in gold and silver prices to softer Fed expectations, a weaker US dollar, lower Treasury yields and supportive demand data, while stressing that the long-term debt and currency-debasement thesis remains intact.
- He presses Jessome on execution risks, specifically CFE power delivery and water access, and concludes that de-risking the build to a December 2027 first pour matters more for shareholders than further metal-price upside.
Silver Tiger's fully permitted Stockwork Zone heap leach in Sonora, Mexico remains on schedule for commissioning and first doré pour in December 2027. About 200 workers are on site running three shifts a day; earthworks are underway and concrete work is set to start in October. CEO Glenn Jessome argues disciplined execution — not silver or gold price — drives shareholder value, with roughly $1 billion NPV at current prices. CFE granted life-of-mine grid power access via an 18-month third-party build, and redundant on-site generators let the project start regardless of timing. The underground PEA is being advanced to PFS, high-grade drilling has resumed to the north, and Mexico's improving permitting climate supports a broader re-rating.
Craig Parry: Updates on Vizsla Silver, Copper and Royalty
- Top takeaway He keeps returning to the copper price thesis, calling the $20-30 a pound forecast aggressive and reacting to the implied $36 figure with 'that's a big call' before steering the conversation to the drilling targets.
- He opens the Vizsla Silver section as the elephant in the room, asking what the company can and cannot say after the security incident and what has to happen before work can restart on the ground.
- He tests the operating side throughout, raising the $44 million December raise, current cash, burn rate, and whether acquisitions would be funded partly to unlock government capital.
Vizsla sold its royalty spin-out 18 months after IPO, returning roughly eight times the IPO price to shareholders. Nine to ten rigs are turning across eight or nine copper targets in Alaska and British Columbia, with assay results due within weeks. Parry sees copper reaching $20–30 a pound within five years, betting constrained supply cannot match grid, data centre and EV demand. Ground work at Vizsla Silver in Mexico stays suspended after ten colleagues were killed, with permits still expected late this year. Cash of $26 million funds this year's drilling but falls below $5 million by year-end, making a raise in 2027 likely.
Rick Rule: The 1% of Management Teams That Deliver 10-Baggers | Copper Super-Cycle
- Top takeaway Gadsdon frames the copper case in the sponsor segment, citing JPMorgan's forecast of a refined copper deficit of 330,000 tons in 2026 rising to about 2 million tons by 2030, and Wood Mackenzie's estimate that the ten largest producers need $250 billion in constant dollars just to hold current output.
- He presses Rule on the practical questions a junior faces, including whether single-asset companies can raise the $1-2 billion needed to build and whether they should, and says Rule's earlier speech on private placements changed how he invests himself.
Rule argues junior miners are knowledge businesses, so picking the right management team matters more than owning the right rocks. Only a thin group of resource managers repeats 10-bagger returns; he counts 12 of 14 companies from one serial operator turning tenfold. His Paladin Energy bet worked by buying into a hated uranium sector with warrants and holding through a drop to a penny. Prospect generators fund exploration with other people's money, spreading small stakes across many shots — the only repeatable route to a hundred-bagger. Two decades of underinvestment, not near-term weakness, drive his copper super-cycle call and his expectation of a structural oil shortage after 2028.
