Ken Berry

President & CEO | Galactic Gold Corp. | District-scale gold exploration next to Equinox's Greenstone Mine, Ontario

"Leading Galactic Gold's district-scale gold hunt on strike from Equinox Gold's Greenstone Mine, Canada's newest major gold mine."

Mining Executive

Biography

Ken Berry is a Canadian junior mining executive who leads Galactic Gold Corp. (TSXV: GGAU) as President and CEO. The company's flagship Hardrock West property sits about 10 kilometres from Equinox Gold's Greenstone Mine, which began production in 2024 and is widely described as Canada's newest major gold mine. For resource investors, Berry's work is a live example of a core junior exploration thesis: stake large ground beside a producing mine, where the geology is proven and the infrastructure already exists.

Under Berry, Galactic Gold has assembled a 15,000-hectare (about 37,000-acre) land package between Equinox's Greenstone Mine — which hosts more than 10 million ounces of gold — and the Brookbank deposit, at roughly 2.5 million ounces. The ground spans about 57 kilometres of combined strike length — how far a mineralized structure runs at surface — along two major gold-bearing structures. In 2025 the company upsized a non-brokered private placement (shares sold directly to investors to fund exploration) to $1.6 million in gross proceeds, and fieldwork confirmed a mineralized zone on the property. Berry has spent much of his career building junior exploration companies, though public documentation of his earlier ventures is thinner than his current role — the verifiable record here rests mainly on Galactic Gold itself.

His approach is deliberately conventional. Pick ground on strike from a producing mine. Use structural research — in this case Laurentian University's Metal Earth program, which maps deep crustal "super structures" across the Canadian Shield — to trace which faults extend from Equinox's ground onto Galactic's. Then advance targets step by step: geological mapping at Trench Lake and Missing Link North, mineralization model updates at Sturgeon Bridge, and drilling once targets are properly defined. Small, upsized financings fund defined work programs rather than open-ended spending.

Hardrock West has no published resource estimate yet — the quantified inventory of ounces that turns a project into a potential mine — so execution risk is real. Following Berry is still instructive for anyone learning to read early-stage explorers: how land packages are justified, how academic structural geology feeds targeting, and what the size and structure of a financing signal. The milestones that matter next are drill results at Sturgeon Bridge and any move toward a first resource estimate.

Galactic Gold is Hunting for Untapped Gold Next to Canada's Newest Major Mine

  • Top takeaway Berry argues the Hard Rock district was overlooked because exploration over 75-100 years was fragmented and never studied as a whole until Laurentian University's Metal Earth work identified the orogenic faults that host the largest gold deposits, and Galactic controls ground on two of them.
  • He says Equinox Gold's focus on construction and capex opened the window that let Galactic stake and consolidate the district over a 2.5-year period.
  • His near-term plan as of June 2026: the 2,300 line-km airborne survey is done and 3-4 targets, including Sturgeon Bridge, go to drilling over the following 3-4 months.
  • He presents a 25-30 year track record as his credential: co-founding Kootenay Silver with over 400Moz of silver across four Mexican projects, and building Northern Vertex from exploration into production in Arizona.
  • He reports about 55 million shares outstanding after an upsized $2 million financing and expects institutional interest to grow as firms following the Equinox development discover the story.

Galactic Gold assembled 57 kilometres of strike length — how far the gold-bearing structure runs — next to Equinox Gold's new multi-million-ounce mine in Ontario. Metal Earth research by Laurentian University — over $140 million of Ontario funding — targets orogenic fault systems that spawn some of the largest gold deposits. A completed 2,300-kilometer airborne survey (VTEM and MAG geophysics) prioritized three to four targets, including Sturgeon Bridge, for drilling in coming months. A recently closed C$2 million financing, upsized from C$1 million, leaves about 55 million shares outstanding with Swiss and Canadian institutional participation. The team co-founded Kootenay Silver and took Northern Vertex from exploration into production in Arizona, a track record spanning 25 to 30 years.
