Biography

Jeremy Gillis is the Interim Chief Executive Officer of Sendero Resources Corp. (TSXV: SEND), a junior exploration company advancing the Peñas Negras copper-gold project in Argentina's Vicuña Belt — the Andean belt that also hosts Filo del Sol, Josemaria, and Lunahuasi. Appointed in September 2026 after two years as Sendero's Director of Corporate Development, he is executing a fully funded $3.5 million, 3,500-meter drill campaign testing porphyry copper-gold targets (porphyry: large metal deposits dispersed through intrusive rock, the style behind most of the world's copper mines) along a nine-kilometer mineralized trend.

Gillis has more than 25 years of international business experience, the last 15 in natural resources. He spent a decade at Yamana Gold, advancing through consecutive internal promotions, before moving into junior company building in 2020. His Sendero biography credits him as founder, chief executive, and a director of Karus Mining Inc., the company formed in March 2024 when his Theia Gold Corp. amalgamated with Karus Gold. The merger release named Gillis chief executive of Karus Mining — then 100% owner of the roughly 1,000-square-kilometer South Cariboo Gold District in British Columbia — and disclosed that he and a private company he controls held 23.23% of the combined shares. He joined Sendero in 2024 and was elevated to Interim CEO as the company prepared to drill.

His approach is corporate and financial discipline ahead of technical claims. Under his watch Sendero rebuilt its Peñas Negras assay database, restating 77 historical holes drilled by prior operators under a single copper-equivalent (CuEq — the combined value of copper and gold expressed as one grade) methodology, while normalizing decades of drilling records from major operators and working with provincial authorities in La Rioja on restructured project terms. He emphasizes a tight capital structure — roughly 26.5 million shares outstanding — and drilling funded without near-term dilution to existing shareholders.

Gillis explains his reasoning in public. Recent interviews with CEO.CA, Crux Investor, and Junior Resource Investing walk through the assay-database rebuild, the funding plan, and the geological case for Peñas Negras. Investors tracking the Vicuña Belt can follow the drill campaign now underway, and the British Columbia gold projects he assembled at Karus Mining (CSE: KARU) are also being drilled in 2026.
