"Leading Silver North's Haldane silver project in Yukon's Keno Hill district and its Main Fault discovery"

Mining Executive

Biography

Jason Weber (spelled "Webber" in some listings) is a professional geologist (P.Geo) and the President, Chief Executive Officer, and a director of Silver North Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: SNAG), a Vancouver-based silver explorer. He leads the company's flagship Haldane silver project, a 100%-owned, road-accessible property in Yukon's historic Keno Hill Silver District, directly adjacent to Hecla Mining's producing Keno Hill silver mine. The Main Fault discovery in 2024 and the West Fault Zone discovery in 2025 were made under his leadership.

Weber brings more than 25 years of mineral exploration experience. He holds a geology degree from the University of British Columbia and began his career in early-stage exploration in northern British Columbia, later working as a consulting project geologist with Equity Engineering on projects in Canada, the United States, and Central America. He joined Rimfire Minerals in 1999 as Manager of Corporate Communications and served as its President and CEO from 2007 to 2009. When Rimfire merged with Geoinformatics to form Kiska Metals, he led the combined company as President and CEO, advancing the Whistler gold-copper porphyry project in Alaska. He went on to lead Alianza Minerals, which rebranded as Silver North Resources in August 2023 to focus on high-grade silver.

The drilling since the rebrand explains the attention. In 2024 the company discovered the Main Fault zone; in 2025, hole HLD25-31 returned 13.15 metres averaging 818 g/t (grams per metric tonne) silver and 1.39 g/t gold from 249.9 metres depth — what the company called the best hole drilled on the property to date — and hole HLD25-36 followed with 9.10 metres at 428.3 g/t silver and 0.73 g/t gold. Silver North closed an $11.6 million financing in February 2026 to fund follow-up work, and in August 2026 the underlying holders sold their combined 2% net smelter return royalty on Haldane — a share of future mine revenue — to Orogen Royalties.

Weber's method is district-first. The 8,579-hectare Haldane property sits 25 kilometres west of Keno City, and it hosts silver-lead-zinc veins of the same style mined at Keno Hill for decades. Rather than chasing scattered targets, the company drills step-outs from each discovery: the 2026 program is the largest yet, with a $5 million budget, two drill rigs, and 5,000 to 7,000 metres aimed at expanding the Main Fault zone. A Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101 (Canada's standard for technical exploration disclosure), Weber signs off on the company's technical results.

For investors, following Weber is a working lesson in how a small explorer compounds value: a discovery, follow-up holes, a financing, and third-party validation, all in a district where Hecla's adjacent mine demonstrates the silver endowment. Silver North is also exploring its Veronica property in Yukon, where 2025 work identified the Lodge and Cooper showings. Weber presented the company's story at the Metals Investor Forum in Vancouver in September 2026.

  • Top takeaway Webber argues Haldane's high-grade, gold-rich veins mirror the same mineralization Hecla mines next door, and that less than 10% of 12 kilometers of mapped structures have been tested so far.
  • He contends strong industrial demand from EVs, solar power, and AI data centers is what now drives the silver market and underpinned the company's 2023 pivot to silver.
  • He frames the endgame as building enough ounces to show Hecla deposits of 25-50 million ounces and excite it or another producer as an acquirer, while staying fully funded through 2027.
  • He acknowledges the stock trades with the silver price and defers any mineral resource estimate for a year or two while discovery drilling continues.

Silver North pivoted from metal-agnostic explorer to silver-focused company in 2023, centered on the historic Keno Hill silver district in the Yukon. Haldane drilling has hit silver in 80% of 24 holes, including 13 meters averaging 818 grams per ton with a gold credit. Intersections run 6 to 9 grams per ton gold in places, enough that neighbouring producer Hecla is investigating where the gold enters the system. Only about 10% of 12 kilometers of mapped vein-hosting structures have been drilled, leaving ample discovery runway across the 100-year-old district. Roughly 24 holes and 6,200 meters from the 2026 program should start reporting news flow by end of September, running through January.
