Geoff Smith

Vice President, Corporate Development & Commercial | Denison Mines Corp. | Uranium capital markets and development

"Leading capital markets, investor relations, and corporate development at Denison Mines during the Wheeler River / Phoenix development phase."

Mining Executive

Biography

Geoff Smith is Vice President of Corporate Development & Commercial at Denison Mines Corp. (TSX: DML; NYSE American: DNN), a uranium developer anchored by the Wheeler River project in the Athabasca Basin of northern Saskatchewan. The role, which he assumed in December 2023, places him at the interface between Denison's flagship high-grade uranium assets and the capital markets that fund their advancement — the exact function a resource investor watches when judging how a developer will finance construction and reach first production.

Smith was recruited specifically for his capital markets track record in the mining and resource sector, joining the executive team alongside Elizabeth Sidle's appointment as CFO. Together, the two hires were framed by President & CEO David Cates as the strengthening of Denison's investor, customer-relations, and corporate-development bench during the period when Wheeler River's Phoenix deposit is moving through feasibility and toward a construction decision. Prior to joining Denison, Smith held director-level and advisory roles in the uranium junior space, including service on the board of Cosa Resources, an Athabasca-focused uranium explorer.

For a commodity investor, Smith's relevance sits on the financing and corporate-development side rather than the technical geology side. He is the executive most directly responsible for articulating Denison's story to institutional shareholders, brokers, and potential offtake or strategic partners at a time when the uranium macro — supply discipline among major producers, policy support for nuclear baseload, and reactor-life extensions across the U.S. and Europe — is the dominant driver of equity valuations in the space. Following him is, in effect, following how Denison plans to fund the next leg of Wheeler River's development and what kind of deals that plan produces.

Smith is based in Toronto and was educated at Queen's University. Public biographical detail outside the Denison and Cosa disclosures remains thin; investors looking for personal commodity views should treat his commentary as the corporate voice of Denison rather than an independent analyst's take.
