"Leading Brixton Metals' high-grade silver discoveries at Langis and advancing district-scale copper-gold-silver targets at Thorn, BC"

Mining Executive

Biography

Gary Thompson is a Professional Geologist (P.Geo.) and the co-founder, Chairman, and CEO of Brixton Metals Corporation (TSX-V: BBB, OTCQB: BBBXF). He has led the junior exploration company since its inception, building a portfolio of precious and base metals projects across Canada and the United States. Resource investors follow Thompson for his direct involvement in multiple early-stage discoveries and his hands-on approach to project generation.

Under Thompson's leadership, Brixton Metals has assembled three distinct exploration assets: the Thorn copper-gold-silver-molybdenum project in British Columbia, the Langis silver-cobalt project in Ontario's historic Cobalt mining camp, and the Hog Heaven silver-gold project in Montana. The Langis project has drawn particular market attention, with Brixton reporting intercepts of 18.2 meters grading 3,638 g/t silver (including 6.8 meters at 9,421 g/t Ag) — grades that place the project among the highest-grade silver exploration targets in North America. Thompson has described the Thorn project's potential as one of the more significant silver discoveries of the decade, though the company has shifted focus across its portfolio as exploration results warranted.

Thompson's approach is rooted in his geological training. As a P.Geo., he evaluates projects from the ground up — targeting district-scale land packages in known mining camps with historical production records. At Langis, this means drilling beneath and along strike from past-producing mines to find new high-grade veins. At Thorn, Brixton has pursued deep porphyry-style copper-gold-silver mineralization across a large land position. Thompson has consistently pursued projects with multiple commodity exposure — silver, gold, copper, cobalt, and molybdenum — giving investors optionality across several metals within single assets.

Investors tracking Thompson today should watch Brixton's progress toward maiden resource estimates (the first formal NI 43-101-compliant mineral resource report for a project) at both Langis and its Montana assets. His track record of acquiring underexplored projects in proven jurisdictions and advancing them through systematic drilling makes him a relevant voice for anyone following junior silver and base metal exploration.

  • Top takeaway Gary Thompson's goal for the Langis tailings program is to turn the historic waste pile into cash flow that would help leapfrog Brixton into another mine at Cobalt, testing how much silver remains after an estimated 350,000 tons mined at about 25 ounces per ton.
  • Thompson describes the exceptional native silver finds at Langis — rock so dense with silver its weight was noticeable, revealing a dendritic pattern when cut — with early holes returning more than 18 metres of 3,600 g/t silver.
  • He argues Ontario's policy shift is a major catalyst, noting the province was long almost completely negative on processing tailings and muck piles, and the new framework makes such work advantageous for the first time.
  • Thompson views junior mining as a lottery ticket that can turn rags to riches, where a single drill hole can take a company from nothing to a $500 million takeout.
  • His background shapes the approach: a Cobalt local who graduated from the Haileybury School of Mines in 1985 with family silver mining roots, over 25 years in exploration including stints at Newmont and Novagold, before founding Brixton Metals around 2009.

Brixton Metals is drilling extraordinarily high-grade native silver at the historic Langis Mine in Cobalt, Ontario, including over 5,000 g/t silver across 20 metres. The best intercept came from ground with no old shafts or historic mining, showing the century-old camp still holds undiscovered veins. Record silver prices, modern exploration technology, and Ontario's new tailings reprocessing rules are together reviving Cobalt's camp economics. Brixton is drilling the Langis tailings pile toward a maiden resource estimate that could generate early cash flow before any new shaft. The company also owns Thorn, a large copper-gold project in British Columbia that has attracted partners like BHP and Ivanhoe Electric.

  • Top takeaway Thompson argues 2026 should be read as a conversion year — five years of Trapper drilling are now being pushed into a maiden resource
  • He advocates a disciplined 'drill what's ready' philosophy: a target must have a geochemical signature, a geophysical signature, and supportive geology before a rig arrives
  • He highlights continued upside at Camp Creek, noting the high-grade gold-silver-copper high sulfidation veins drilled in 2025–2026 remain open at surface
  • He points to 18 deep holes across roughly a 1 km × 1 km area at the Camp Creek porphyry as evidence the system is large
  • His thesis is that converting Trapper to a resource while still extending Camp Creek will validate the project's overall scale

Brixton drills targets only after a clear geochemical signature, geophysical signature, and supporting geology line up — readiness, not novelty, decides where the rig goes. Management calls 2026 a conversion year, aiming to turn five years of Trapper drilling into a formal resource estimate. Near-surface gold-silver-copper veins at Camp Creek remain open and are being drilled toward resource conversion. The Camp Creek porphyry has been tested with 18 deep holes across roughly a 1 km by 1 km area.

  • Top takeaway Argues Brixton's Camp Creek corridor hosts a cluster of porphyries, citing the new Catalyst discovery 8 km from Camp Creek as a second porphyry.
  • Describes the 2022 Camp Creek porphyry discovery as the event that got investors 'over the edge,' after the team had pitched a complete mineral system based on the size of the 'sandbox.'
  • Frames the broader exploration thesis around porphyry deposits forming in clusters and says Brixton is now demonstrating more than one porphyry in the corridor.

Brixton Metals credits its 2022 Camp Creek porphyry discovery with getting an investor over the edge to fund the company. A new porphyry target called Catalyst sits 8 kilometers along the Camp Creek corridor from the original find. The guest argues porphyry systems commonly form in clusters, so a single hit can signal more discoveries nearby.

  • Top takeaway Frames 2026 as a 'conversion year' for Brixton, arguing the goal is to translate roughly $75M of prior drilling into an updated Camp Creek resource and a maiden Trapper resource
  • Defends BHP's 2022 investment as a bet on a 'complete mineral system' and the sheer size of the Thorn land package, with the Camp Creek porphyry discovery as the trigger
  • Defends how Brixton allocates drill dollars across many targets by saying the company drills 'what's ready' based on geochem, geophysics, and supporting geology, not just what's interesting
  • Pushes back on the 'never-never' investor critique, arguing the work is genuinely converting into resources and economics rather than perpetually being deferred
  • Frames Catalyst as still early-stage despite 424 m of 0.3% CuEq from surface, citing a 1:1 copper-to-gold ratio, surface expression, and a 'handful of holes' as positives worth expanding this season

Brixton (BBB) is converting five years of Thorn Project drilling into updated and maiden resources at Camp Creek and Trapper during 2026. BHP's 19.9% strategic stake reflects conviction in a complete district-scale porphyry system at Thorn, not just one discovery. The Catalyst porphyry returned 424 metres of 0.3% copper-equivalent from surface with a 1-to-1 copper-to-gold ratio, and 2026 drilling will hunt for a higher-grade core. Thorn sits roughly 50 kilometres from the nearest road; the team estimates 50-60 kilometres of new road would unlock road access to the deposits.

Brixton's Land Package Got BHP’s Attention

Brixton's Land Package Got BHP’s Attention

  • Top takeaway Gary Thompson argues BHP's toehold investment in Brixton is driven by copper and BHP's search for the next big copper mines.
  • He frames the Thorn project as the exciting core of the story: nearly 3,000 square kilometres in northwest British Columbia with three copper porphyry discoveries, two being advanced, and ongoing drilling for new discoveries.

Brixton Metals argues BHP invested because the copper major needs the next generation of large copper mines. Brixton's Thorn project covers just under 3,000 square kilometres in a geologically promising part of northwest British Columbia. The land package (a large contiguous claim area) has already delivered three copper porphyry discoveries, with two being advanced. Drilling is underway as Brixton looks to add new discoveries that could interest major mining companies.

  • Top takeaway Thompson argues now is a good time to invest in Brixton: the valuation is still quite low, the company is well-financed with strong shareholders, and drilling all of its projects in 2026 should produce a lot of news flow.
  • He frames Thorn as a district-scale copper-gold play where several discoveries have been made since the company started in December 2010, now advancing toward initial mineral resource estimates.
  • His stated strategy is to get as much capital in the ground as quickly as possible within the May-to-October field window, with a new camp and airstrip at Thorn helping to lower operating costs.
  • He contends that a large land position — about 2,900 square kilometers of tenure assembled over five to six years — gives Brixton a complete mineral system under one control, a key advantage over peers, and that owning ground around the old Golden Bear mine road offers infrastructure upside.

Brixton Metals has grown its Thorn Project in northwest British Columbia into a district-scale copper-gold play since 2010, with several copper and gold discoveries. The company is advancing those discoveries toward an initial mineral resource estimate (a first formal tally of in-ground metal), then development. A new camp and airstrip enable fly-in, fly-out exploration, cutting operating costs in a remote setting with a May-to-October work window. The CEO argues a 2,900-square-kilometre land position holds a complete mineral system, giving Brixton control of an entire district under one ownership. Drilling is active on an Ontario silver project where the CEO cites some of the world's highest-grade drill intercepts, with Thorn resuming mid-May.
